An adaptation for autumn equinox & Baltic Unity Day 2025
O Žemyna, earth mother, kind,
we pray this day your love to find.
Yours is the oak, ‘round which we meet;
your body, earth, beneath our feet.
Autumnal garb becomes your cloak;
repose until you’re next invoked.
Abundant gifts, your harvest blessed;
earth’s time has come to lay to rest.
The dance eternal you have led;
your inspiration, us has fed.
Now in gestation you recline,
while we will face Vėlinas’ time.
We lift the horn to you this day,
beer shared around, your toast we raise.
Our season’s work, do bear in mind,
and bless your harvest, grains to grind.
But more than this, through summer’s toil,
you held our hearts as we tilled soil.
As nights lengthen, ending labour,
your true bounty now we savour.
And so we sing in this your grove,
‘midst forest paths on which we strode.
Our feet are rooted in the loam,
here we still praise you; this your home.
